Today at the Sony E3 press conference Sony announced the early release of the long-awaited PSP GO would possibly be somewhere in the fall of 2009. How many PSP GO! and here is a sneak peak of some of them:
• slide on the screen
• 3.8-inch high resolution screen
• 40% lighter then the PSP 3000
• No UMD drive (yay)

Sony also states that the PSP is not the product replacment GO PSP 3000, but sold in 2 "Harmony" and on the shelves of their retail sales. Did not mention if the PSP, Go is a touch screen (and I hope that the fixed annoying hold button, the PSP-3000)
Sony announced the PSP, go to E3 now - Ház Cyrus is called "the worst kept secret at E3." Slider is a hand-held 3.8-inch LCD, built-in Bluetooth, and 16GB of internal storage, all the cases, 50 per cent to 40 per cent lighter and smaller than the original PSP-1000 - we aim for weight savings is directly related to the loss of UMD disk. That is right, Go no UMD disc - you can load the game via the Memory Stick Micro slot, or over the PlayStation Network. This is not the end of the PSP classic, though - Sony claims that it is "alive". New PSP UMD titles are distributed through retail and online at the same time - by creating the customer's desktop, Sony and rename Media to go easier access and synchronize with the media, Playstation Network, but you must be able to go directly to the content of PSN as well. PSP music functions are a new feature beefed Automatic Playlist Sense to me, it sounds a lot like Pandora or iTunes Genius lists, and there is a new video delivery is rolled out.
